PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High girls’ and boys’ outdoor track teams hosted Barrington and Mt. Hope Tuesday and came away with several first-place finishes.
Boys’ results
As a team, the boys beat Mt. Hope by a score of 132-21, but were defeated by Barrington, 46-108. Here are some highlights of the individual performances by the Patriots:
• Aiden Chen won the 400-meter run with a time of 51.6 seconds, and the high jump with a best effort of 6 feet even. He placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.4 seconds.
• Landon Rodrigues won the long jump with a best leap of 21 feet even, and the triple jump with an impressive 41 feet, 10.75 inches — more than two feet beyond his closest competitor. He also took third in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.9 seconds.
• Chris Vachon won the 3,000-meter run in a time of 9:40.5.
• Ayden Gleeson came in second in both the hammer with a best throw of 163 feet, 9 inches, and the discus with a toss of 111 feet, 5 inches.
• Chris Wilkie came in second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.6 seconds.
• Jacob Braud and Ethan Durant took second and third place in the shot put with throws of 42 feet, .25 inches and 39 feet, 9.5 inches, respectively.
• Stephen Harvey came in second in the javelin with a best throw of 109 feet, 8 inches.
• Sean Gray took third place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:11.8.
• Oliver Tibbets came in third in the 400-meter run, clocking a 54.3.
• Owen Gervelis came in third in the triple jump with a best effort of 39 feet, 3.75 inches.
• The 4x100 relay team of Deboth, Potter, A. McClelland, and Knight came in second with a time of 45.4 seconds.
• The 4x400 relay team of Gilmour, Hartley, Kidd, and DeFalco came in third with a time of 3:59.4.
Girls’ results
As a team, the girls beat Mt. Hope, 86-54, but were defeated by Barrington, 46-108. Here are some highlights of the individual performances by the Patriots:
• Allie Kaull and Elena Drosinos placed first and second in the 3,000-meter run, clocking times of 10:34 and 11:14.3, respectively. Kaull also won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.5.
• Emily Conto won the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 50.1 seconds. She also took second in the 110-meter hurdles (17.1 seconds), the 100-meter dash (13.3 seconds), and the 200-meter dash (27.8 seconds).
• Sonia Staroscik won the 400-meter run with a time of 1:04.8.
• Claire Hook came in third in the long jump with a best leap of 16 feet, 3.5 inches.
• The 4x100 relay team of Hook, Staroscik, Hillmer and M. Abedon came in third with a time of 55.9 seconds.
• The 4x400 relay team of Drosinos, Higgins, Siebens, and Marston came in third with a time of 5:01.8.
The teams’ next meet will be the Varsity International against multiple schools at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, at Conley Stadium in Providence.
