Luke Tanous singled, doubled and drove in two runs to help the Barrington High School baseball team edge Chariho, 5-4, in a Division II showdown on Monday afternoon, May 6.

The Eagles also got help from Miles Fontaine, who went 2-for-4, and Trevor Snow who hit a triple. Alex Anderson picked up the win on the mound, while Gabe Tanous earned his second save in two opportunities. Tanous struck out the side for the second straight game.

Barrington improved to 9-3 with the victory.

On Saturday, the Eagles traveled to North Providence and earned a 6-3 victory. Quinn Murphy ripped a triple and drove in a key run to tie the game in the fifth inning. Grant Culton singled and drove in two runs and Nick Scandura had a single and an RBI.

Connor Marley started the game for the Eagles and limited the Cougars. David Redmond pitched in relief and picked up the win. Gabe Tanous struck out the side in the seventh inning.

Barrington opened last week with a 3-1 loss at home to Johnston. Gabe Tanous led off with an inside the park home run in the bottom of the first inning, and Murphy followed with a single, but that would be all the hits Barrington would get.

The Eagles were scheduled to travel to Prout School on Tuesday and then host the Crusaders on Thursday at 5 p.m.
